SPA 11 - What's new!!!
TUTORIALS COMING SOON
We are currently working on completely redoing the SPA training. However, we didn’t want to wait to release SPA 11 because your current SPA 10 workflow will still work EXACTLY the same in SPA 11. So you can update the software and then just implement new features as needed, but don’t need to right away.
Some of the new SPA 11 features are self explanatory and can easily be implemented into your workflow. Other feature may require a little training…. so for those features stay tuned for documentation and training.
Workflow Note 🙂
You don’t need to make ANY changes to your current version 10 workflow unless you want to.
- ✅ All your saved templates will work exactly the same in version 11.
- ✅ Any CSVs you created for version 10 will work exactly the same.
🔲 Player Alignment Modes 11 12 13
- Works with a user-defined box.
- Aligns the cutout top and bottom to the box (like mode 4), unless the player edges stick out—then it scales to fit.
- Mode 11 = top align
- Mode 12 = vertical center align
- Mode 13 = bottom align
🔲 Team Alignment Modes 3 4 5
- Works with a user-defined box, same as the new player alignment modes.
- Allows SPA to auto-scale an entire cutout team to fit the box. With team modes 1 and 2, SPA aligns the entire canvas, which can retain transparency borders when using a cutout team.
- The original modes 1 and 2 are better for non-cutout teams; modes 3, 4, and 5 are better for cutout teams.
- Mode 3 = top align
- Mode 4 = vertical center align
- Mode 5 = bottom align
🖼️ JPG + PSB/PSD/TIF
- Save a flattened JPG plus a layered file (PSB, PSD, or TIF) in the same batch.
📂 Multiple Templates from a Folder
- Select a folder of templates → SPA builds composites for every CSV row across all templates.
- Only need one row per player in the CSV .
- Still supports multiple rows per image + TEMPLATE FILE header when you need per-template differences .
🎨 Two-Tone (or More) Text in One Layer
- Auto-detects spaces between words.
- Adjusts text properties (color, font, spacing, etc.) to match new word lengths.
- Example: First name orange + last name blue will stay split correctly even if character counts change.
📁 Run from Sub-Folders when using a CSV mode
- Finally implemented—YAY! 🎉
🔤 Replace Text in Multiple Layers
- If multiple text layers share the same name , all will update from the CSV.
🧩 Smart Object Text Editing
- SPA will edit text inside inside smart objects named ending with SPASMART.
- Only smart objects with SPASMART in the name will be opened and scanned for text layers .
⚡ Pre Template Actions
- Action Selection Dropdown in UI
- New CSV header: TEMPLATE ACTION
- Run Photoshop actions on the template before text updates or images import.
- Note: Post-Actions still available too.
📝 Auto NAME Concatenation
- If your CSV has FIRSTNAME + LASTNAME but no NAME, SPA will automatically join them and use that for text replacement in the template file NAME layer.
- If all 3 exist, the NAME header value is used.
✂️ Auto-Crop to Transparency
- For alignment modes 1–6 & 11–13, SPA crops off extra space so scaling is tighter to edges.
🔄 CSV Reload on Batch Start
- If you save changes to a CSV after importing, SPA will reload the updated file when the batch starts.
📊 Auto-Sort by TEMPLATE FILE Column
- If your CSV includes the TEMPLATE FILE column and the data is staggered, SPA will give an option to auto-sort by that column when the batch is started.
- This dramatically speeds up workflows because SPA won’t need to repeatedly close and re-open templates.
- Instead, it keeps each template open while processing all rows that use it.
🧪 Quick SPA Layer Test
- Under the Template Setup screen, there is now a one-click template layer test called “Analyze SPA Layers.”
- This scans the entire template and reports which SPA layers it finds and whether they are set up correctly.
