PixnubOne other thing you can try. In version 7, set the Non-Hair Defringe setting to Auto High. This should clean up choppy edges some. The name is a little misleading. Even though it says non hair defringe it does then entire image. When using it on high it can help soften the hair edges a little and make them look better. So try that combined with auto hair refine ang with the Max foreground retention OFF. The max foreground retention can make choppy edges and kind of override the hair refinement and auto defringe.
