Were the images ran through cutout images through Evoto before running through SPA?
If so then that is almost certainly the cause.
In order to get metadata into the composites, SPA has to copy the metadata from the cutout and replace the metadata in the template file. When simply putting a cutout into a template, by default the composite will not have metadata from the cutout layer. Metadata will be from whatever was in the template file.
So what SPA tries to do is copy the metadata from each cutout and replace the data in the template so the saved composite will have the cutout metadata.
The issue that has been happening is some of the Evoto process are changing the metadata into a compressed format that Photoshop can’t read. When this happens, there is no way for SPA to copy the metadata from the cutout to put into the composite.
2 things for testing here…
1. Go into the Photoshop preferences, In the general section, select the option to “Clear Dialog Warnings”. Then open up one of the cutout png files. Does Photoshop give a message saying that the file info can’t be read and will be ignored? If so then the metadata is stored in a way that Photoshop can’t read it.
2. If the cutouts have been through Evoto then try a test to run a few images on the same template that haven’t been through Evoto. Do those work to retain the metadata?
Let me know…..
