Damon BellPlease try resetting the Photoshop preferences. Under the general section in the preferences, select “Reset Preferences on Quit”. Then restart Photoshop and try again. I have seen corrupted preferences files cause the face detection to not work.
If that doesn’t work then please try rolling Photoshop back to the prior release that was working before it stopped working. I have seen some compatibility issues with the Intel UHD integrated graphics. I think that model you have is around 8 years old. Photoshop does much better using a real GPU than using integrated graphics chips on the CPU. I have seen this exact thing several times when older intel graphics chips stop working for face detection on a newer Photoshop release but will work on the older Photoshop release.
If this is the case, then the issue may be temporary until Adobe and/or intel fix the compatibility issue…. or it may become a permanent thing if Adobe stops supporting the older GPU. That would be worst case and you would need to run the older Photoshop release if that is the case.
Anyway, please let me know after trying these 2 things and we can go from there.
