The reason why it is set to inches is because the vast majority of users are school photographers who are cropping for print.

Maybe I could also have  “width px” and “height px” boxes that show up if resample is checked that would be underneath the width and height inches boxes.  If the user enters value in those then it changes the Width In and Height In to match based on the PPI.  So it would basically be doing the same thing, just that the user can enter in either inches or px and then it does math to update what is in the other box.
