The Magenta Placeholders are put into the team when it can’t find a face in those images. It does that so that there are the correct number of slots in the row and the spacing is correct. That way the user can manually add the image.
Obviously, when there are a lot of magenta placeholders there are issues with face detection.
One thing about contacting Adobe is that the overseas tech support reps are good about using “3rd party” as an escape out of having to help.
If you can get the GPU to fail with just Photoshop itself and work with the tech support rep on that then it is best because they have to then own the issue. If they fix it then Pixnub will work too.
For the images that are not detecting faces, open a few of the images in Photoshop. Then go to Filter>Liquify in the Photoshop menu. See if the Face Aware Liquify dropdown shows Face 1. If that is there then see if you can use the face shape adjustment sliders to change the shape of the faces.
When Photoshop is having face detection issues then you will usually see that the Face 1 option is missing gin the Face Aware liquify menu. Sometimes the option will be there but the sliders won’t do anything.
If Face Aware Liquify is having issue too then you can work on that angle with the tech support rep. If they fix that then it will also fix Pixnub. That way they can’t top out of helping and just blame Pixnub.
