Do the prior folder have “EZTEAM” layers. If so then you need to delete the EZTEAM layer from those folders. Also, the other prior player layers may be a conflict too because they have the same name as the new layers it builds. Usually if there are 2 layers with the same layer name and a plugin or action tells Photoshop to select a layer, it will select the bottom most layer with that name. Because of this, keep old team copies and building in the same template always causes a problem if the old team is placed below the EZTEAM layer. It has always been tis way. However, it typically doesn’t cause a problem if the old team is above the EZTEAM layer because Photoshop will select the lower most EZ Team layer to build and also the lower most player layers when it is told to select a layer with those names.
However, in your cases, it seems that your Photoshop may be selected the old layers with those names when the plugin tells Photoshop to select the layer with that name.
As a general rule, having multiple layers with the same name is a recipe for potential conflicts with actions, scripts or plugins. So I think that is what is happening on your computer.
Here is what I want you to try….
1. Make sure there are not ANY other layers named EZTEAM anywhere except the one layer you have where you want it to build the team.
2. In the EZ Team Builder settings, change the layer naming setting to “Filename” instead of “Numerical”. If you set it to filename then it will name the layers with the name of the cutout files instead of “Row 1 Player 1”. This way, as long as you are not building the same team twice, the layer names will always be different because you will be using cutouts with different Filenames
3. Place an empty layer at the top of the layer stack above the group folders for the hidden teams. As a workaround for another bug, the plugin has to first select the top layer, then Select the EZTEAM layer before starting. So if the top layer is the hidden group folder then it briefly selects that layer and then reselects the EZTEAM layer. this “Shouldn’t” turn the layer visibility on, but I wonder if it is on your computer. I saw this happen to one other computer and resetting the Photoshop preferences fixe it, which was why I asked you to do it. So by creating a blank layer that is above the top hidden group, when the plugin briefly selects the top layer, it would be the blank layer and not the hidden group. So if your computer has a bug that is turning on the top layer, it would be the empty layer it turns on which wouldn’t cause any issues. I don’t know if this is even what is causing the layer visibility to turn on…. it’s just a hunch. I can’t recreated this on my computers and nobody else has reported it either. So this is just a guess.
Anyway, please let me know after you have tried these things and what the results are.
