    Where is it putting the team.  Is it inside of one of the hidden folders?

    It the other team folder, is there an EZTEAM layer in those folders too? If so, then it may be seeing that EZTEAM layer and placing the players on top of that layer inside the hidden folder.  If so then delete the extra EZTEAM layers and try again.

    If that is not it then there may be a corrupted Photoshop preferences file. In that case please try resetting the Photoshop preferences. Then restart Photoshop and try again. Let me know.
