Did you try to reset the preferences as I asked? That will set everythign to factory defaults which should work.
Also, based on past experiences, I have seen the preferences get corrupted. In those cases, it’s no an actual preference setting itself causing the issue, but it is a corrupted file. Resetting the preferenecs will creat new preferences files and fix if there is seomthign corrupted.
Here is what I recommend.
1. Forget trying to get the old preferences. You shouldn’t need those.
2. Try resetting the Photoshop preferences. Then restart Photoshop. This will set the preferences to default and shoudl fix any corrupted files.
If resetting the preferences doesn’t work then uninstall Photoshop. If it asks if you want to save the users setting answer NO. That will remove all traces of use settings.
Next remove the Creative Cloud App. Again, if it asks if you want to save the users setting answer NO.
After both Photoshop and creative cloud have been removed, Reinstall Creative Cloud and Photoshop.
Your computer should NOT require your old preferences. So I think wiping the installs and starting over is the best bet if simply resetting the preferences doesn’t work.
