    Are you certain that your scratch disk space is not low?

    Also, what disk are the images saved on? Maybe try moving some of the images to the desktop and opening from there any trying to test if that doesn’t error. Maybe it is related to the specific disk the images are saved on.

    I don’t think the image resolution itself is the root of the problem. Maybe it is a factor that pushes it over the edge for your specific computer situation, but not the root issue in itself.  A 5D Mark IV is only 30 megapixels so that should be fine. The disk size in MB doesn’t mean anything. The number of pixels is all that matters once it is opened in PS.

    I have never had any problems with any D850 or Z9 images which are 45 megapixels. A lot of people use the Canon R5 which is 45 megapixels or the Sony A7 R IV which is 60.
