I think there is something wrong with your PSD file. To test, please create a new PSD file from scratch.  Other than scaling the player layer, don’t do anything else to the layers at all. Don’t hide any of the layers. Don’t rasterize any layers etc.

Then try the new file and let me know if it works.

In your screenshots, I am confused. The first screenshot shows the green man. The second screenshot shows an empty layer for the SPA player layer. So I’m not sure how the layers in your current template are setup. The SPA player layer needs to be a smart object and not just an empty layer.
