Are you referring to the Pixnub Picture package SPA templates?

If so, then when you run SPA, you must click the checkbox that says “Use Smart Objects”.  The SPA picture package templates rely on duplicated smart objects. So they will only add the duplicated images if it brings the image in as a smart object.

The old SPA version would always bring in images as smart objects. However, I figured out that SPA could run much faster and use less memory when bringing in images as regular layers instead of smart objects. Therefore, I made using smart objects optional so it could be used only when needed.
