There is no easy way to do this automated in Photoshop and have it look very good. I have never seen an automated process that can repeatably look good. To look good, it is really a manual brushing process. If I knew of a way to program this then I would have already.
Honestly, I recommend choosing designs that help cover the feet with fog or graphics. That makes automation much easier. I don’t think parents care too much about seeing their kids feet anyway…. just my opinion on it.
Automation has limits and if you try to stay within the limits then your job will be much easier and I doubt you will generate less sales because of not have feet with shadows.
