    The graphics processor is probably turned off in the Photoshop preferences. Face Detection runs on the GPU so that needs to be on.

    Go into the Preferences and to the General section.

    Is the checkbox that says “Use Graphics Processor” turned on?  If not then turn it on and try again. Let me know if that works.

    If Photoshop does not allow you to turn on the graphics processor then in the Photoshop menu go to Help > GPU Compatibility. Then post a screenshot of the pop up window it gives you.
