However, with that said, I don’t think you need even a javascript for this.  You can probably use the Photoshop alignment tool and have it center.  I use this in actions all the time. If you set up your action this way without the JS then SPA will run the action just fine.

Just make sure you have it set to “canvas” in the option before running the batch. The action won’t save the canvas/layer option. When you restart Photoshop, it will reset the option back to layer.  So before running SPA, just make sure the option is set to canvas.
