    What is the exact resolution in pixels (not PPI).  Based on what you are telling me, I think your images are only around 1200 pixels tall?  If so then that is pretty low resolution for printing an 8×10.  Ideally you want 3000 pixels tall for printing an 8×10.

    So it sounds like you started off at 4200 pixel and then cropped off to 30% of the total height.  I think that is pushing it.

    Hard to say without testing a print though.  I suggest trying to print one and see what it looks like. If it is tack sharp at 120PPI then it may print OK. However, it not then I think it may be too small.

    I’m not a printing expert so this is just my guess. The ultimate way to know would be to test a print.
