    I put that in place. The reason is because while it’s running it is in a continual javascript loop scanning the folder for images.  Without implemented so sort of timed stop, it would just run the loop forever. There are 2 reasons I don’t want this.

    1. It will be continually using CPU.   If there are no images or only a few images in the Hot Folder then no big deal. However, if there are 1,000 images in the Hot Folder, even if they are not new images to be processed, it start putting a drag on the CPU.

    2. I know a lot of people will just close Hot Folder without pressing the stop button.  In that case, if there wasn’t a timed stop, then it would process any images that land in the folder, even if it was a week later… if Photoshop hasn’t been restarted.  I figured that would freak people out.
