Thanks again. Helpful to know about GIMP. The corrupted image is one of two of the same person, so I’m not concerned about its loss. Maybe someday Adobe will produce an error message more helpful than an application hang when it encounters a corrupted file. Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving. Jeff.
