Of the 37 files in the batch, it happens that the first one was a malformatted JPG. The clue to this was that Windows was not able to generate a thumbnail or open it in the Photos app. Once this file was removed, Face Crop processed the remaining 36 images successfully at about 6.6 sec/image. Thus the only real issue is that PhotoShop seems to have hung without warning on an malformatted image file. Thanks again for troubleshooting this. Jeff.
