The procedure to set up the temaplte is exactly the same as for cutout images. use modes 1-6. When adding a custom sample image, just choose non-cutout when it asks.
When batching, if you are using modes 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 then make sure to click on “Use Select Subject for edges”. Then it will do a select Subject to find the edges of the person. If you don’t check that on then it won’t work correctly because it is looking for transparency edges. Other than checking that box, you run the batch exactly the same way.
