I figured out a workaround using HotFolder.  I created a photoshop action that selects the subject using Subject Selection and crops to the subject.  To create the action just start recording one, go to Select>Select Subject, then choose Image>Crop and stop the recording.  Now you can use Hot Folder to run the action on your folder of images.  Subject selection works great on cutout images.  Now I can use Player Mode 4 since every player is now perfectly centered to the edge.  Hopefully this helps someone else.
