Hi Dale,
Please let us know if resetting the Photoshop preferences solves the issue. This is something that I am tracking. If the message keep popping up then I may just go to a warning in the UI itself with a button to click for more info. The warning would still be there but the pop up wouldn’t come up.
For sure, I want to keep some kind check in place so users get feedback for when the GPU is off. This has been a bit tech support item where users try to run with the GPU off and face detection doesn’t work. In many cases the users have waiting over the weekend for us to respond because they didn’t know that they only needed to turn the GPU on to get it to work.
So for that reason, I really need the GPU check in place to catch those issue so users can fix it on their own without waiting for us to respond. However, there is also this unexpected nuisance issue where on some computers, Photoshop is reporting the GPU is on when it is really off. This will not stop it from running. It is just 1 extra click. However, it is obviously an annoying pop-up so I’m trying to figure out what to do about it. I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue on any of my systems where it thinks the GPU is off which make it difficult. Most people have reported that after resetting the PS preferences, the message stop popping up. So I would like to know if it comes back or not on your computer after resetting the prefs.
