Photo Sketch quickly changes your photographs into pencil style sketches. There are several simple adjustments that allow you to alter the style. It can create both colored and black & white sketches.
Photo Sketch allows you to save presets so that you can apply the same sketch styles to other images with just a single click. It also comes with 12 presets already installed to get you started quickly.
One important feature is that the adjustments are not resolution dependent. This allows you to apply the same presets to images of different sizes and get the same overall effects. For example, the pencil tip size adjustment is not based on a direct pixel value. It is based as a proportional size to the overall image size.
Does Both Color and Black & White Sketches
You have control over how the edges are created with the Edge threshold adjustment. A lower value yields more edges while a higher value yields less edges. For the example below, the settings used were exactly the same except for the edge threshold. With a value of zero, edges were drawn in the sky area just based on the digital noise that all photos will have some of. This is useful if you want solid areas to be shaded in. By increasing the threshold value, the solid area will not have edges as seen in the sky on the right side. You can dial in the settings to give you the exact look that you want.
Photo Sketch has individual saturation adjustments for red, yellow, green, cyan, blue and magenta. You can desaturate some color and increase saturation on other colors to highlight certain colors. This can create really nice effects.
There are seven main adjustment to give you complete control over the sketch style. You have control over the pencil size and pressure as well as contrast, etc. Also, there are color adjustments in addition so you have control over how the color is applied to the sketches. The examples below show how you can create many different sketch styles.
