Hi David,
Those thumbnails are troubleshooting files to help you see where you shot too close in camera and what the preset “wanted” to do. In order to not slow down the batch, it doesn’t save another fill size file. The full size file you see is the one where it cropped in tighter in order to remove the empty space.
In Face Crop 4, one of the biggest complaints we had was that there was too much sizing variation… but many of this time this comes down to people shooting too close in camera and the program can’t scale the images how the preset tells it too without having empty space. So each image then has to zoom in differently to crop off tis empty space.
So with those thumbnails, the are .webp file. I picked that format so you can easily delete all of them by sorting by filetype and deleting all .webp files. They are not meant to be used other than to show you the difference between what the preset wanted to do, and compare it to how the images actually cropped.
The take away is that you don’t want Face Crop to need to make these files. If you see them then you need to either shoot looser, or use different preset values so it crops in further. If you don’t then you wil see a lot of variation in your crops.
More info is on this page…. it is still under construction. I am working on adding an entire written user’s guide. The only section I have on this page now is for this exact topic.
