Okay, I gotta tell you that this is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t explain it.
So, taking your suggestion, I went to my laptop and ran the batch from there. The templates and the output are all located within my DropBox folder, so my laptop had access to them. My Photoshop and Bridge are, of course, installed on my laptop, which is a different installation then on my desktop. Well, the batch came out with the exact same dark images and correct images in the output folder (ACCORDING TO BRIDGE). And, there’s the rub!
Strange, but when I went to Windows Explorer to find the output folder, all of the images looked great! WTF??? To double-check it, I went to Lightroom (which I really don’t use) just to view them. And, again, they looked fine!
So, I went and tried running a batch from an entirely different template in a totally different folder. The same images that were dark were STILL dark, and the images that were correct were still correct!!! Even with a new template and new output location! This is some crazy s#!t.
I can’t make any sense of it. I guess I will just have to send the photos to the lab and hope they come back correctly.
