To keep transparency when convert from PNG to TIF (or TIF to PNG). you need to do it in Photoshop, not Lightrooom. You can easily convert PNG to TIF with the Pixnub Hot Folder plugin. This will keep the transparency. It is a simple process that takes just a few clicks. Here is the video link for how to do it.
